Playing Tchaikovsky on a Steck grand piano

Yesterday I tuned a beautiful Steck player-piano and its owner John Blood kindly demonstrated the playing mechanism with a piano roll of the Tchaikovsky piano concerto. The player mechanism hasn’t been used for a while so it was a slightly sluggish rendition, but the sheer beauty and joy of watching the music unfold before my eyes was wonderful!
